Most people think that anyone that claims to be a tax person can prepare your taxes. While that may be true, unless they care about you as an individual and about your financial situation then you are hiring the wrong firm... You WILL pay higher taxes.
What you sould be looking for is Years of experience, Many happy clients of the firm. Low cost but not cheap (good tax preparation software is not cheap)! Extensive education so that you get the best knowledgeable, well-informed and up to date service.
Having said that! Our firm has been preparing taxes for individuals and businesses since 1983..... 
That was way before software and the electronic filing age. We used paper and adding machines and obviously had to really know the tax code. Sweeping changes happened in 1986 and again in 1994 when internet filing became available and has been ongoing ever since. Wow, in 1994 all that was available was clumsy Dos programs, but we stepped onboard with the wave of the future. Today we use state of the art software. ProSeries, Professional Edition by Intuit. Our accounting software is Quick Books also produced by Intuit and Microsoft Office Suite.
About happy customers, well let's just say that a person does not stay with you if you have not provided them with excellent service. We can boast of having some clients who have been with us for 20 years. Now that is customer loyalty!
Our prices are fair and reasonable, and Sharon Hyder (our head tax accoutant) has a Masters Degree in Business & Finance.
